Is the drink pouch durable, do I have to worry about it breaking open or tearing?

The ASAP pouch is definitely very durable. We made our pouch with the same type of material used in packaging the "Meals Ready to Eat" which are built for the military and require very high standards known as Mil-Spec or Military Specification.

Is the packaging bulky and how much does one serving weigh?

We designed our drink pouch with flexible packaging technology and one serving of ASAP only weighs around 3.0 oz! Anyone who has ever had to pack out a lot of gear knows that this is a huge advantage over other alternatives. You can very easily fit 3-5 pouches of ASAP in a small backpack or in a side cargo pocket.

Military personnel should always maintain if feasible, their weapon, ammo, water and some form of food. This is where always having a couple of extra ASAPs on your person could really pay off.

Are you encouraging the use of your product over real food?

Absolutely not, ASAP is a dietary sports supplement. When you can get a good source of whole foods we encourage you to do so. However, our product is designed as a sports nutrition meal replacement. Sometimes a whole food item is just not available or practical. We encourage the use of our product to help you to supplement your dietary needs when looking for a source of quality nutrition.

Is ASAP high in calories?

ASAP has 325 calories per serving. We based our caloric intake per serving on daily percent values on a 2000 calorie diet as set forth by the USDA. Also, traditional high calorie meals while on the move or in operation have a tendency to make you lethargic or tired because of too much insulin production. If the meal is a whole food meal it can also require a lot of blood to be pumped to the stomach to help to aid in digestion which pulls blood away from the limbs and other areas of the body in order to do work. This could be a problem when you literally have to eat "on the go!"

How much protein is in ASAP?

We formulated it to 30 grams per serving and we did this for a couple of reasons. Most meal replacement powders in the market place have way too much protein in them to begin with, operating under the premise of "more is better." We have aligned ourselves with more scientific evidence pointing to the body's ability to only utilize 25-30 grams of protein per serving. Protein in an excess amount all in one serving can cause stomach discomfort. Our product is also 96% lactose free!

How many carbohydrates does your product have in it?

ASAP contains a total of 40 grams of carbohydrates. Once again we did not want to go overboard here with any nutrients, instead we choose to use a blend of fast acting as well as slow digesting forms of carbohydrates. The idea is to use just enough fast acting carbs in the form of quick sugars to illicit a response of the hormone insulin. Insulin is responsible for helping to shuttle nutrients into the cells to under go the conversion into energy and a host of other metabolic functions. If you use a high amount of sugar then you could just end up creating an environment known as "hormonal hunger." This means that the product would just make you hungry for more food because too much insulin had been released. The quick sugars not only help to draw in the slower acting carbs for more sustained energy, but can also provide a form of quick energy to the body.

How much fat does it have?

Our formula contains 5 grams of fat per serving. Over 80% of the fats we use are called MCTs or medium chain triglycerides. MCTs do not store in the body like most fats because they are structured differently. ASAP has included MCTs because of their ability to be used primarily as a source of energy and still be able to meet the fat intake requirements necessary to carry out normal metabolic functions.

How much water should I add to the pouch?

We recommend that you add no more than 6-10oz. of water as that is what we designed the pouch to hold along with the ASAP formula.

How long should I shake the contents for after adding the water?

Before you shake the contents in your disposable drink pouch make sure you have closed the zipped lock top and then hold the pouch at the top and bottom. Shake the contents vigorously for 30 seconds to ensure that the contents fully mix as some settling occurs during shipping.
